Sara A Carter: Intelligence Agencies Join FBI in Push Against Plans to Release FISA Abuse Memo
Whistleblowers, Republican congressional members, and some former intelligence officials cite mounting concern that the White House may not release the House Intelligence Committee’s FISA abuse memo as the FBI pushed against plans to make it public based on false allegations that the memo contains information that would harm U.S. national security, sources tell [Sara].
And we are waiting now for the release of two different cements today. The FISA memo and the Senate criminal referral document.

Derrick Goodman, 56, and Shannon Hoaglen, 41, were arrested at the Gainesville State School on a charge of official oppression related to excessive force, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Derrick Day, 39, a former Gainesville employee, was also charged with official oppression. All three were booked into the Cooke County Jail.
Morsello Hooker, 31, who formerly worked at the Ron Jackson State Juvenile Correctional Complex in Brownwood, southwest of Fort Worth, was also charged with official oppression, authorities said. He was booked into the Brown County Jail.
Official oppression is a Class A misdemeanor. Authorities said the charges included two felony allegations: tampering with a governmental record resulting from a false entry for leave, and theft by a public servant.
In November, The News reported that four Gainesville employees were fired and faced prison time due to improper sexual activity with youths in custody. One staffer, a 29-year-old who was allegedly impregnated by a juvenile offender, was charged a second-degree felony.

LATimes:As police investigate L.A. school shooting, parents and officials question how a gun got into a classroom
As police investigated a shooting at a Westlake middle school on Thursday, parents and local officials questioned how a 12-year-old girl apparently was able to get a semi-automatic pistol and smuggle it into a classroom.
Four students were injured in the shooting at Sal Castro Middle School, and two of them remain in the hospital. A 15-year-old boy was in stable condition with a gunshot wound to his temple and a 15-year-old girl is in fair condition with a gunshot wound to her left wrist.
The shooting suspect, a 12-year-old girl, has been taken into custody.
“We do not know yet … how our young person on this campus ended up having the ability to have access to a firearm and bring it onto campus,” said Los Angeles School Police Chief Steve Zipperman. “Or for that matter, any young person having access to a weapon and bringing it anywhere. We have laws that mandate that parents who own guns, any adult who owns a gun, any gun owner, has an obligation to ensure that gun is locked inside a home.”

Eleven people died in a fire late Wednesday night at a lodging facility in Sapporo that housed impoverished elderly and disabled people, with only five residents surviving, police said.
The lodging in the northern prefecture of Hokkaido, which was totally gutted, was effectively functioning as a low-cost shelter for welfare recipients. Japan has about 1,700 such facilities, often used by elderly people unable to enter care facilities or rejected by apartment owners.
The article goes on to say Fire prevention and accessibility measures are under scrutiny.
